New New Projects:
5/21/2010 - I LOVE when I have the chance to combine different avenues of creating. A few months ago my friend wanted
to try to recreate the Pixies Surfer Rosa cover as a gift for her boyfriend. I loved the idea but was not sure how I was going to
pull it off. At first I thought I might simply do it digitally in Photoshop, but I realized it just would not look as good and
I would miss out on incorporating painting. So, I decided I would go to Home Depot, find some sort of substrate I could cover
a wall in my house with and then paint over it. I couldn't afford much so I found this great roll of inexpensive paper (it was also the
perfect hue for the background). I found the paper the night before the shoot and some inexpensive construction lighting and a small can
of black interior paint
. The day of the shoot I covered the wall with the paper and held the real cover in my hand and just started painting. I
finished it in less than two hours. During the shoot I had my friend stand on a hard suitcase I had to raise her up like in the photo. I also had
to find out her height and paint the height of the chair rail in the background accordingly. The yellow cast of the cheap Tungsten lighting I had
was perfect for the shot, although I toned it down a little by setting my white balance. Originally we tried to have her stand exactly like the model
in the original cover, but the two builds were different enough that the pose did not flatter my friend as much as the pose we ended up going with. In
the end it was our artistic interpretation so it worked fine. I did some final touch up work in Photoshop and then I had the finished piece. I really
love challenges like this shoot and hope to do more in the future. In fact, I have lots of ideas for instillation art pieces so if you know any venues,
please let me know.

5/20/2010 - These are some photos from my latest shoot. The model is Vanessa La Velle, an amazing local illustrator and good
friend of mine. I found this great shirt and skirt from the Goodwill on Parker road. The shirt has this fascinating drawing of a mask
on the front and I fell in love with the feel of it. It was made in Portugal and it has this fun 80's and Ska style. The shirt is
what inspired this shoot. I knew I wanted the photos to be set in the outdoors with a model that had strength and beauty. I love
using real women with courage and life experiences as models. I think the life behind their eyes represents my style best.
I will
showcase more from this shoot in the June issue of TUSK coming out June 1st.

5/20/2010 - I now have an updated photo of myself for future issues of TUSK. It will work for now ( I think I mostly like it because you can see my favorite boots),
but I'm looking forward to doing a trade with my friend Gabriel Christus in the near future. He is an incredible local photographer and really good friend of mine.
He needs some headshots as well, and asked me to shoot them (huge honor in my book).

5/20/2010 - This week I finished a website and photography for a local Pilates Instructor and Massage Therapist, Shannon Briese. Her
website was by far the largest site I have produced yet. In total it has 14 pages and includes video and pdf downloads. I created the logo,
drew the images (abstract drawings of the human body), and shot all the photography. I still have a lot to learn about programming,
but I am happy with the design of this site and excited about how much my client loves it. I think the look and feel represents
her goals well, and it's also very easy to navigate. Her clients can now see video of her studio, see pictures of her
massage room, download at home step by step exercises and download a client intake form. Below is
an image of the news and community page as well as her business card. www.shannonbriese.com

5/19/2010 - I enjoy oil painting but I really am very new to it and have been learning as I go. I still have lots to learn but here are a few I have done.

I painted the image below from a photograph I took in Dusseldorf, Germany.

5/18/2020 - I had a request a few months ago to do some pin up style photography. I had so much fun with Dawn, a great girl that was so cool and open
to do some of the scenarios I came up with. Doing the creative direction on this shoot was so much fun.
I photographed everything first and then did some manipulation to the final images in Photoshop to achieve the desired effect.

5/18/2020 - Framed images of mine that I gave to my Mother in Law for Mother's Day. It seems like I hardly ever get the chance
to see my photography framed so this was nice to put this set together.
